About Us

Malwa College of Nursing is recognized by Punjab Govt., Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot Punjab India.
The Malwa Educational Society (Regd.) Faridkot was established under the Society Registration Act (XXI of 1860). It was the dream of Late Dr. Ravinder Singh to impart quality education to girls in the field of Nursing in this backward area of the State.

Initially a Dispensary was started at Kotkapura (Distt. Faridkot) to look after the poor patients and provide better nursing care. His dream materialized when this Society established best private nursing institute 'The Malwa Institute of Nursing, Kotkapura' in September, 2000, with an intake of 40 students per year in three years Diploma Course of 'General Nursing & Midwifery' (G.N.M) for 10+2 graduated students. The intake capacity was increased from 40 to 60 in the year 2002.

To fulfill the long cherished dream of Late Dr. Ravinder Singh the Society established the Malwa College of Nursing at Kotkapura (Distt. Faridkot) Punjab (India) with an intake capacity of 40 students per year in four years degree course of Bachelor of Science in nursing (B.Sc. Nursing). Malwa College is recognized by Punjab Government, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Indian Nursing Council and is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
The role and dedication of late Dr. Ravinder Singh will always be remembered with deep reverence.

The Government of Punjab had granted 'Essentiality Certificate' in the year 2004, to start Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme at The Malwa College of Nursing, at Kotkapura with an intake of 25 students. Accordingly, Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) programme was started from the academic session 2007-08. This programme is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi; Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh and is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

COURSES WE OFFER

GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY - GNM (NURSING)

Diploma (General Nursing and Midwifery) is a 3 year course, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate(10+2)in science. Nursing is the art of taking care of sick people and midwifery is a profession that provides assistance to a mother during labor as well as pregnancy. Subjects studied under this degree are Biological Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Behavioral Science, Psychology, Sociology, Fundamentals of Nursing and first aid.

B. Sc. Nursing 'BACHELOR OF SCIENCE' (NURSING)

Bachelor of Science (Nursing) prepares nurses for a wide variety of professional roles and graduate study. Course work includes nursing science, research, leadership, and related sciences that inform the practice of nursing.
